Sustainability

Non-financial reporting and corporate social responsibility enable the Bank to support and promote the development of different segments in society through a wide range of activities, aimed towards the wellbeing of its own clients but also the wider community in which the Bank operates, through supporting various humanitarian and educational as well as cultural and sports institutions across Croatia. In this process, the Bank takes into account the specific regional characteristics and local needs present in the society.

Sustainable investment

There is a growing number of people who are interested in the idea of investing their money responsibly. EBC believes that such behaviour is not just a short-term trend, but that sustainability has become a basic need, a self-evident way of life for an ever-growing part of society.

Sustainable development goals

The Sustainable Development Goals are also known as the Global Goals and were adopted by the United Nations in 2015. There are 17 in total, and by fulfilling these goals, the society is expected to achieve a more sustainable living and a better life for every individual, as well as peace and prosperity for all. Prosperity for the society and every individual is one of EBC’s goals, which it is trying to achieve through its business operations.

In general, Erste Bank Croatia, as well as Erste Group, supports all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. But taking into account its type of business and its impact on society, EBC can significantly contribute by working on and achieving 9 goals through strategic initiatives, by redirecting financial flows and adjusting its operating model:

No poverty

Good health and well-being

Quality education

Gender equality

Clean water and sanitation

Affordable and clean energy

Sustainable cities and communities

Responsible consumption and production

Climate action

Risk appetite statemen

Erste Bank is committed to combating financial crime, bound by regulatory requirements and by our own expectations to protect Erste Bank, it’s employees and first our customers from financial crime related risks.

To achieve this goal Erste Bank has set up dedicated business policy restrictions. These business policy restrictions reflect different risk scenarios from an overall anti-financial crime perspective considering various risks, especially such that might be connected to operating in high-risk jurisdictions, high risk industries and/or using/providing higher risk products and /or services.
