Frequently asked questions

It depends on the job position you are applying for. For example, for a job position of a teller you go through a testing which comprises of several types of tests (basic mathematics, professional test, couple of shorter speed and concentration tests). We usually have the first testing (professional, speed and concentration tests, general knowledge and skills, English language, sometimes also German language), and after the testing and selection based on test results we have first and second round of interviews

Both options are good. It is only important that a personalised CV contains everything that is important for the person applying for a job position (education, work experience, contact information, interests, knowledge, skills...).

Writing details from personal life that have nothing to do with the job position you are applying for should be avoided. If you are writing about your hobbies, you should limit that part to a minimum (e.g. merely list them).

It is important to be neat. You decide what makes you feel most comfortable. We recommend business-casual combination that will not “kill” your personality.

It depends on the job position you are applying for. You should always prepare and study the description of the job position you are applying for and find out as much as possible about the employer who will interview you (kudos to social networks!) When we invite candidates on testing, we provide information about the type of testing.

We like questions intended for us as the employer (what is more, we ask candidates if they have any questions for us), but it is important that questions are connected to the job position, our bank, organisational structure and so on.

Recommendations are not a necessary document for the application of candidates in the Erste bank selection process. Recommendations from professors or recommendations from former employers are often information to potential employer about the quality of the candidate. If employer has a developed system for evaluating quality of candidates, recommendations are not crucial for the evaluation of the potential employee.

Upon publishing the external competition, Erste bank communicates necessary conditions for a particular job position in detail. If working experience is listed as a prerequisite in the published competition, the goal is to employ a person with experience on same or similar job positions.

Erste bank has developed a system of internal and external educations in detail and is significantly investing in personal and professional development of its employees. We can say that formal education is a personal decision of the employee.

Open job application represents the application for working at employer regardless of the existence of open job position in the moment of submitting the application. Open application is not a job application for a particular job position, but an indicator of interest to work in the organisation.
