Erste Bank general sponsor of Rijeka Carnival

Rijeka, 10 February 2015 – Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d. (Erste Bank) is the general sponsor of the International Carnival Parade for the 12^th consecutive year, and as of this year general sponsor of the Children’s Carnival Parade, the Rijeka Carnival Queen Pageant and the Handover of the City Key. In this way, the bank continues the tradition of sponsoring the carnival in Rijeka as the biggest tourist attraction of the City of Rijeka and one of the most important tourist events in the Republic of Croatia.

“Erste Bank traditionally supports diverse cultural and sports projects and events organized by the City of Rijeka, including the Rijeka Carnival, an event that it has sponsored for 12 years already and that is not important only for tourism and affiliated economic branches of the City and Kvarner, but also for the promotion of the entire country. Although we traditionally support the International Carnival Parade as general sponsor, this year we have also decided to include in the general sponsorship the Children’s Carnival Parade, as a parade that is the most important to the youngest, as well as the Rijeka Carnival Queen Pageant and the Handover of the City Key,” underlined Barbara Bernetic Cikovic, head of the Rijeka Commercial Centre of Erste Bank’s Economy Sector.

Apart from the support to the Rijeka Carnival, within its donation and sponsorship activities, Erste Bank traditionally supports other projects organized by the City of Rijeka, as well. This year, it will also support the sports event Hamo si tec, the International Small Scene Theatre Festival, the Fiumanka regatta and the Water Polo Club Primorje Erste Bank. The bank has earmarked a total of a little more than HRK 2 million for the mentioned activities.
