Erste banka develops mobile banking app for corporate customers

Zagreb, 16 March 2016 – After it offered the mBanking service for iOs and Android to its retail customers, Erste&Steiermärkische Bank developed the same service for corporate customers. In addition to signing prepared orders and files, viewing account balance and transactions, and using the mToken to sign in, the mobile banking services offers the “Photo and Pay” feature. This feature simplifies the payment of invoices because users do not have to fill in the payment order by hand: all they have to do is scan the invoice. Also, the transaction fees for paying invoices by mBanking are lower than the transaction fees at the bank’s offices.

The new mBanking service offers some new and innovative functionalities, such as partial scan and invoice upload, which were developed in order to make it simpler for the bank’s clients to pay invoices received by email and non-standard payment orders. The partial scan functionality allows clients to upload only parts of the invoice, such as model and reference number, or IBAN number. To use this functionality, the client merely has to choose the “Partial Scan” option, and the camera of the mobile device will turn, with the name of the payment order field that needs to be scanned written in the camera app. After all required information from the invoice has been scanned, a new payment order will be generated automatically based on the scanned information. The app also allows clients to upload invoices received by email to the mBanking app, where they can be automatically converted into payment orders, without the need to manually input information from the invoice into the order.

The monthly fee for the use of the mobile banking service is HRK 20, and the fee per electronic transaction is HRK 1.30, which is much lower than the transaction fees for payments in the bank’s offices.

Comparison of costs on mBanking and at the office for 40 external payment orders

The service was developed after an analysis of the needs of our corporate customers, who mostly receive invoices by email and non-standard payment orders. For this reason, we had to develop additional modules, and we developed the functionalities such as invoice upload from email and partial scan in cooperation with our partner microBlink. Corporate customers now have advanced invoice payment tools – partial scan of payment information in case of non-standard payment orders - at their disposal in addition to the standard functionality Photo and Pay for general payment slips. The customers’ reactions have so far been very positive. Among other things, they voiced their satisfaction with the fact that the user interface and user experience, as well as the authentication method, were identical for the retail and for the corporate customers. For customers who regularly use the retail service, this makes it easier to use the single interface and authentication method”, Igor Strejcek, Director of Digital Channels Sector at Erste banka, said about the development of the new functionalities of the mBanking service.
