Zagreb, 6 June 2017 – During the first five months of 2017, Erste Bank placed around 965 housing loans to citizens, worth nearly HRK 300 million. Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase by 41% in the total amount of placed housing loans, considering that 705 housing loans in the total amount of slightly over HRK 210 million were placed during the same period in 2016. The average amount of a loan with a purchase or construction mortgage amounted to around HRK 490,000, while loans without mortgages were approved in average amounts of around HRK 137,000.

On 1 January 2017, Erste Bank reduced the interest rates on new housing and housing ECO loans with a currency clause in EUR, as well as housing and housing ECO loans in HRK. This is a reduction of 0.3 percentage points and the fixed part of the interest rate, i.e. it is not a result of regular adjustment based on the change in the value of its variable part (EURIBOR, NRS). The reduction refers to loans with variable interest rate, as well as those with a fixed interest rate. Bearing in mind the value of 12M EURIBOR and NRS, the values of which have been even lower since 1 June 2017, interest rates for new housing loans now start already at 4.07%, and with housing ECO loans at 3, 87%.

The housing loans which Erste Bank currently offers include several different models (standard housing loan, housing ECO loans, and adaptation loan). The offer includes housing loans with a currency clause in EUR and a repayment deadline of up to 30 years, with an interest rate of 4.07%, as well as housing loans in HRK with a repayment deadline of up to 30 years and an interest rate of 4.26%.

The offer of Erste Bank’s housing loans currently includes housing ECO loans in EUR at the most favourable interest rate. The interest rate is variable and amounts to 3.87%. The maximum amount is EUR 500,000, and the repayment deadline is up to 30 years. Housing ECO loans can be used for the purchase of a housing space with high energy efficiency (A+, A, B, and C), construction and annexing, and reconstruction of energy efficient houses, purchase and installation of equipment for the use of renewable energy sources, projects on real property that affect the reduction in energy consumption, the implementation of thermal insulation of housing facilities, refinancing of the costs of required permits, solutions, approvals and documentation in accordance with the regulations in the field of ​​energy.
