Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d. (Erste banka) has appointed Dario Salata to head the newly-established Tax Office of Erste grupa* in Croatia (Office). The Office is in charge of, among other, Erste banka's and Erste grupa's tax compliance in Croatia as a whole, coordination of tax policies of associated companies and cooperation with tax regulatory bodies. The Office was established to enable better and more efficient management of Erste grupa's tax risks, in response to more comprehensive regulations which resulted from Croatia's accession to EU and to planned new tax regulations.

Dario Salata obtained a master's degree in the field of accounting and taxes from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb in 2011. He has been employed at Erste banka since 2008 as the head of the tax team in Accounting and Controlling. During 2016 he underwent professional training at Erste Group Bank AG in Vienna as part of an employee exchange programme. With the appointment as head of the team in charge of tax affairs at Erste grupa in Croatia, Salata has been tasked with managing the group's tax risks and coordinating tax policy. He is also in charge of tax audit within Erste banka and associated companies. He started his career in 2003 as junior tax inspector at the Tax Administration. In 2006 he was hired by Vipnet d.o.o. to the position of accounting and taxes specialist, where he worked until he was hired by Erste banka in 2008.
