The popular exhibition "The Alphabet of Money", which has been seen by almost 40,000 individual and group visitors in a bit more than two years at the Technical Museum in Zagreb, can be viewed only until 23 April 2017.

The exhibition was initiated by Erste bank and Erste Group, in cooperation with the Children’s Museum ZOOM from Vienna and the Children’s Museum FRida & freD from Graz, and due to great interest of the public and positive reviews, it has been extended several times. "The Alphabet of Money" is also the most attended exhibition of the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum in Zagreb, which, due to the unique educational and interactive concept, was seen by more than seven thousand children from elementary schools, kindergartens and vocational economic schools from almost 40 Croatian cities and municipalities. Even though the exhibition is conceptually intended primarily for children aged 10 to 15, it attracted the interest of children and young people of all ages, as well as their parents and teachers.

The exhibition was designed in the manner that children, using the exhibited objects through 10 interactive units, gain insight into the basics of financial literacy and the role of money in their daily lives. By playing, children learn about the history, function and value of money, various types of trade, poverty, saving and investments. Also, they learn how to wash gold, repay loans, how product prices are formed, what shares are, and what fair trade is. "The Alphabet of Money" is the first exhibition of this sort in Croatia, and the same collection has toured Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, and Serbia so far, and has been seen by more than 190,000 visitors.

"The Alphabet of Money exhibition, which was created in cooperation of the children’s museums from Graz and Vienna, is an exceptionally interesting and educational exhibition with the very current subject of financial literacy. The exhibition enriched the programme of the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum with current, educational and interactive contents, to the satisfaction of all generations of visitors, especially children. We thank Erste bank for choosing the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum as a partner in the realisation of this attractive and exceptionally attended project", Museum Director Markita Franulic pointed out.

"We are happy that this many children, their parents and teachers recognised the importance of the concept of the exhibition, the goal of which is to bring the basic terms about money and finance closer to children. If we managed to explain, for example, savings or loans to only a part of the children, then are goal has been accomplished. Although it was first conceived as an exhibition for younger primary school students, we are glad it was recognised as a supplement to the educational programme of the vocational economic schools too", says Zdenko Matak, a member of the Management Board of Erste bank.

"The Alphabet of Money" exhibition can be seen at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, Savska cesta 18, Zagreb until Sunday, 23 April 2017. It is opened from Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
