As a result of the compliance with the PSD2 Payment Services Directive, which will be effective on 14 September, and introduces changes to the payment services field, Erste Bank has made some changes to the process of signing transactions via digital banking, as well as some new functionalities. From now on, all transactions on digital channels will have to be signed and, in accordance with that change, the limit of HRK 500 for natural persons is therefore abolished. The exception are transactions to IBANs from the verified recipients list, which the clients will be able to create themselves, transactions between other personal accounts and certain other transactions that do not exceed the HRK 200 limit.
All users who use mTokens to access their internet banking (Erste NetBanking), can use the mToken to sign transactions. Other than the mToken, the users of Display cards will still be able to access their internet banking services using their card, and all transactions will be signed by entering a prompt and an answer generated by the card, just as before.
Along with these changes, certain other functionalities will be introduced to the Erste Bank digital channels. Mobile banking (mBanking) users can already use their fingerprint or face scan, rather than the mPIN, to access the app, and now they will be able to sign transactions within the mBanking service in the same way. Depending on the functionalities of your mobile phone, you can also sign in into the mToken app by using biometric functionalities - a fingerprint or a face scan.
"Erste Bank has been working hard for some time to implement the changes demanded by the PSD2 directive, which benefits all users and parties involved in payment services. This opens up the market to all certified digital service providers. Other than that, clients will be able to experience an increased level of security when using these kinds of services. We believe that the changes we are implementing into signing transactions will improve the user experience of our clients and increase security”, said Igor Strejček, Erste Bank’s Director of Direct Channels.
