Erste banka made a donation of HRK 200,000 to the Zadar General Hospital's Ophthalmology and Optometry Ward for an ophthalmological biomicroscope, seeking to improve the quality of healthcare for the Hospital’s patients. The biomicroscope will be used to diagnose diseases of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye, and will help the Hospital provide better quality healthcare to all its patients, and especially those suffering from age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
“Erste banka's donation will increase the quality of healthcare provided to Zadar General Hospital's patients. The quality of diagnostics in ophthalmology largely affects the final diagnosis and the outcome of the treatment. We would like to thank Erste banka for helping us buy this device”, said Željko Čulina, MD, Director of the Zadar General Hospital.
“Erste banka recognised the Zadar General Hospital’s need to make the full spectrum of healthcare services available to the citizens in spite of channelling enormous efforts and human and material resources into fighting the pandemic. We therefore hope that the acquisition of this piece of medical equipment will help the Ophthalmology Ward provide the highest level of medical service. We would also like to thank the Hospital’s medical and non-medical staff for the enormous effort they have put in fighting the pandemic, and voice our utmost respect for everything they are doing”, said Šime Kevrić, regional director of Erste banka’s corporate sector.
Erste banka seeks to support projects that are important for the local community in the Zadar area. In addition to this latest donation, the Bank donated a total of more than HRK 800,000 to the Zadar General Hospital in the past three years for various purposes.
