Erste banka and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County have signed an agreement on Bank’s 1m donation to the County, to be used for specific sport projects in 2022. The donated funds will also be used to retrofit the City of Rijeka’s Belveder football field, i.e., to co-finance the replacement of the old turf.

"We want to take this opportunity to express how happy we are with our successful business cooperation to date, articulating special gratitude to Erste banka for its donations and socially responsible business, and its recognition of community's needs and direct support to sport, an activity with educational, health and social role that has a positive impact on the prevention and protection of not only the health of individuals but the quality of life of society in general." said County Prefect Zlatko Komadina at the signing.

He also pointed out that the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is second only to the City of Zagreb when it comes to investment in sports, investing three times the average of other Croatian counties combined. Through the Public Sport Needs Programme, which received HRK 23.74m in funding from Primorje-Gorski Kotar County from 2017 to 2021, nearly HRK 4.75m is spent on sports and recreation annually.

"For many years, Erste banka and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County have had excellent cooperation on many projects. I am happy that this year we can once again support the County in organizing and implementing sport projects. As the leading local bank, we recognize the need to work together, which is why we strive to support various high-quality initiatives, inlcuding sport which holds a particularly important place. The bank understands that adequate financial support is essential for continuity and good sport results, especially in current circumstances. Since we also strive to be a reliable partner when it comes to creating economic growth, I am happy that we are also taking part in a series of projects that raise the standard and quality of life for the local population," said Christoph Schoefboeck, Chairman of the Management Board of Erste banka.
