After a one-year break caused by the coronavirus epidemic, Erste banka is resuming the free financial literacy workshops for citizens entitled Smart Finance School which will be held online using the Microsoft Teams app due to the epidemiological measures. This national financial education programme carried out by Erste banka is available to all interested citizens and includes online workshops, led by the bank's financial experts, and interactive educational videos. The workshops are aimed at all adults, regardless of their existing knowledge on the matter and personal financial situation. Over the course of two-hour workshops, participants work on developing their skills of financial planning, managing spending, setting priorities and managing the household budget.
Citizens may apply for the workshops via the application form at the Smart Finances School webpage. The only precondition for participating is having a good internet connection and a computer with a webcam and microphone, or a smartphone/tablet. In addition, it is not necessary to have the Microsoft Teams app installed since participants will be logging in as guests using the browser.
The workshops will be held regularly twice a month, during times and dates available in the app itself. Right now, interested citizens may apply for the workshops that will be held on 25 March, 14 April, 22 April, 6 May, 19 May and 8 June 2021.

Erste banka launched the Smart Finances School in April 2019 with the aim of encouraging as many citizens as possible to acquire the skills and knowledge related to managing personal finances, considering future life and financial goals, and managing spending. The workshops are not intended as a sales channel. So far, more than 550 workshops have been held and were attended by more than 8,000 participants, 84% of which said in a survey that the workshop inspired them to adopt good financial habits.
